Miami

I am finally getting around to putting something in about Miami. So these pics are in chronological order to make things simple. I got in late on the 8th and we stayed over at Kristin's boyfriend's house and went out that night (my first time to a bar by the way). The next day, we headed to the beach for abt an hour before it started raining. That night Kristin's family came into town. Saturday we had a fun grad lunch w/ her family and then the graduation ceremony and a cocktail party afterwards. We went out that night and stayed this time at Andy's house (the boyfriend). I think we slept in pretty late and then went to the beach w/ her family (this is May 11th by the way). Monday we headed down to the Keys and stayed our first night in Islamirada and the second night in Key West. The pic on the bus is Stephanie and I holding on tight as the shuttle bus took us from the hotel to the downtown area. We had dinner that night at some place (I can't remember the name), but it had really good food. The next day we headed back up to Islamirada, Kristin's family stayed one more night there, but we headed back to Miami b/c I had an early flight on Thursday (the 15th).

My early morning flight on the 15th was cancelled (we had been sitting on the tarmac for abt an hour when this was finally announced). Long story short, I got into Boise about 8pm (instead of 2pm) and got a 100 dollar credit on a United Flight. This is a really really short version of the trip, but it was way fun.

Oh I forgot to say that the Wed morning we were in Key West (before heading back north) we went deep sea fishing. We all took bovine, but of course I had a bagel for breakfast which later ended up in the ocean. I threw up twice and Andy threw up once. Poor Andy was always next to me when I puked. At least I was far away from him, though. I caught one fish (after the first vomiting episode) and then after the second time throwing up, decided it was just best to sit the rest of the time. Yeah for me!

Madison's recital

Madison and her class danced to a song from the CATS broadway. It was a really cute routine and her costume was darling!

Leona Lewis

Love her!! Heard her song awhile back, but didn't know who she was until AI last week...if you live by me I bought her album on iTunes if you want a copy. Oh and this first song is like that poem about walking in the sand and seeing only one set of footprints during the hard times...

Poem:

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Update

Ok, so I haven't put up a posting in a few weeks now which is funny since I for one am always on the computer and two, I always am sad when I don't see other people updated theirs (I like to live thru other peoples lives) :-) At any rate, it is another grandma weekend (we watch G's grandma a couple of times a month...good $$$). I realized since I am procrastinating going to bed b/c Maddie is in there and literally hogs the whole thing up, I might as well write a quick blog. Oh and seeing as I am totally stealing internet from one of the neighbors I might as well do a quick repentance by "journaling." So we have been busy w/ nothing but the same ole' stuff. G is going back to nights at Cabelas which means for me no more night trips to the gym which stinks b/c I so don't get up at 6am. Let's see...my mom is coming to visit at the end of the month. It is always good for her to visit b/c then I am forced to really clean my house. Plus it will motivate me to take a baseboard from our house to Kwal Paint and get it matched so our baseboards don't look like junk (should have painted them 18 months ago when we moved in!!!). Ummm...Maddie graduates from preschool on the 30th and her dance recital is the 19th which really means I am now going to have to find activities for her and Rea to stay sane. I have her signed up for a couple different summer camps (a week long each). We move before dance or the full summer camp would be over so she is only doing a couple of the fun weeks of the summer camp. Her preschool is awesome and I would totally have Rea go there if we weren't moving. Speaking of moving, it still looks like we are going to San Diego. G is still on the waitlist for his top school, so we will see what happens.

Rea likes to think she is potty trained and will miraculously find pullups from when Maddie was potty training (I bought one box and maybe used two) and then last night (I was at the gym) she went to bed w/ a swimmer diaper on...probably b/c it looks more like real underwear, but doesn't really have that absorbent quality (I later explained to G the difference between swim ones and reg ones) so long story short, we had a bit of a wet mess this morning.

I leave for Miami this week. WAYY excited to go, but nervous too. I think I will miss the kids more than I think I will or maybe I am afraid that I won't miss them and then think I am a bad mother, but whatever. I am still going to Miami which is a good gift for getting G into law school. He has only admitted it once, but he totally wouldn't have been able to get everything done in the process of applying (getting apps filled out, figuring out numbers, stats, etc) w/o me (he does work 60hrs a week). So I totally deserve this trip. I told him he gets to go hiking during the fourth of July weekend so that evens it out, but he doesn't think it is the same thing.

Well that is all for now. I am on our laptop and the space bar only works on the left side and I always want to use my right thumb to hit the space bar. VERY ANNOYING!
